I can pretty much guarantee you're not going to want to put most of these animals, dead or alive, on your altar, or even have them in your sacred space with you. What you might try instead is maybe drawing a picture of that particular animal. Or if you can, obtaining some hair, or feathers, or whatever they have. Those would probably be the safest and easiest ways to use the energy of an animal.
