Basic Lip Gloss
- 1/4 cup beeswax
- 1/4 cup castor oil
- Beet juice

Melt beeswax in top of double boiler. Remove from heat and add oils. Add as much beet juice as desired for color. Store in jar. Transfer a small portion to a purse sized container for use when away from home. Any favorite essential oil may be added for fragrance.

 

Apricot-Orange Lip Gloss
- 1 tsp beeswax
- 1 tsp apricot kernel oil
- 1 tsp calendula oil
- 3-4 drops of essential oil of orange
- Beet juice

Melt beeswax in top of double boiler. Add apricot kernel and calendula oils, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add beet juice if desired for color. When partially cooled, add oil of orange. Store in jar. Transfer a small portion to a purse sized container for use when away from home.

 

Sweet Almond Oil
Excellent for lubrication, rich in protein. Good for all skin types. Particulary good for massage. Can be used as 100% of your total base.

 

Apricot Kernel Oil
Good for all skin types. Rich and nourishing, lightly sweet. Can be used as 100% of your total base.

 

Avocado Oil
Thich and rich and suitable for all skin types. It's very good for dry and dehydrated skin. This oil should be used as 10% of your total base.

 

Grapeseed Oil
Light and odorless, great for lubrication, and easily absorbed by all types of skin. Ideal for perfumes, since it won't alter the smell of the essential oil. Can be used as 100% of your base.

 

Jojoba Oil
This rich, nourishing oil is unquestionably the best for hair and skin. Since it never spoils (It is actually a liquid wax) it acts as a preservative for your essential oils. It can be used as 100% of a perfume base, but should be used as 10% of the base for other applications.

 

Peanut Oil
Light and exceptionally rich in vitamins and minerals, good for all types of skin. Can be used as 100% of your base.

 

Wheat Germ Oil
Rich in vitamin E and a natural antioxidant. This oil is great for all types of skin and prolongs the shelf life of your massage mixtures. Should be used as 10% of your total base.
